which comes first? steam bath or massage?
A steam bath should come first.
The heat from a steam bath can help to loosen muscles slightly before getting a massage. If muscles are extremely tight, the touch of the massage therapist can cause you to tense up, therefore not allowing your muscles to completely relax during the massage session. A steam bath can help prevent this by relaxing your muscles prior to the massage session.
Many massage therapists like to use herbal massage oils. A steam bath can help to open your pores, allowing the oils to penetrate your skin more easily, providing a greater benefit.
Hope this helps!
