My massage therapist got on the table with me?
I got a massage from a certified therapist, but some of the things he did made me feel a little unsure. Like when he got on top of the table. He wasn't on top of me, not in a suggestive way, but I still found it odd. Is this normal or ok?
I am a massage therapist and I have been doing massage therapy for 10 years.
Yes, this is normal.
Some areas of the human body are hard to work on and do require the therapist to be in strange positions. We can't really adjust our client's position very much, so we have to adjust our position in order to work those areas.
Everyone needs to feel comfortable with your massage therapist, however, so do continue to find a massage practitioner that is right for you.
Ask your friends if they recommend a therapist. That's usually the best way to find someone you can trust! But, if you ever feel that something is happening that is sexually inappropriate, end the massage ASAP!
